Here you have another Firenerd talk, this time with Szymon Kokot-Góra. We start with some history and then move on to talk about a national fire service vs a regional one. We talk about implementing big changes, meeting resistance, instructor training, training props and more.
Szymon Kokot-Góra
Szymon is a fire officer from Poland. He entered the fire service in 1999 and graduated from the Main School of Fire Service in Warsaw in 2003, becoming a fire safety engineer and a lieutenant of the State Fire Service.
He also holds Masters in Fire Safety Engineering, post graduate diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and in Pedagogics.
He is a volunteer firefighter since 2004. Currently he holds a rank of major of the fire service and works as Deputy Head of Training Division in Olsztyn.
He is responsible for coordination of CFBT instructor training in State Fire Service of Poland. He is the initiator and the main author of new national cfbt curriculum, national model of unified multifunctional live fire training structure (delivered to 22 locations in Poland) and author of the cfbt textbook for the fire service. He is also the founder and lead instructor of cfbt.pl, which gathers best Polish fire instructors and cooperates with firefighters globally, making sure that the curriculum stays up to date. He also runs a motivational project for firefighters, called “Projekt LIDER” as well as engages in many other social projects.
